Birthday Card Box with Drawer

Have seen quite a few versions of this out there....there is a cute one with an easel card on top.  For this one I basically used a "matchbox" template/design, and added a flap for the card.  Finished box was a little longer and wider than 3 inches.  I added a small spot of (weak) Velcro to hold the card closed.  Here's a good tutorial at "Julie's Stamping Spot."

Since this was a gift for a crafty friend, I made a bunch of shrinky dink embellishments and baubles (for Christmas or crafts) and put in the drawer.

Peony Explosion Box

I used Spellbinders "Grand Peony" to make the flower for this birthday explosion box, and Graphic 45 Botanical Tea (my absolute favorite) paper collection.

I added some baubles made out of shrinky dink, some tags with quotes/verses and tabs for pictures, and a 2nd mini box with a jewelry gift inside.  I cut my Explo boxes with Cricut Mini Books cartridge, but they are really easier to make than they look with just some 12X12 papers.  Pinterest has quite a few templates and tutorials.

Birthday Card with Zipper pull tab & "Tiffany Fight Against Cancer" Shrinky Dink

One of my favorite dies and stamps that combine are Papertrey Ink Movers and Shakers "Sentiments" stamps and "Zippers" Die Collection...you can pull the little tab to reveal the rest of the sentiment...this one says "It's not a matter of counting years...It's a matter of making years count. https://www.papertreyink.com/

And I love the little girl fighting cancer....I used shrinky dink, and this is a great little freebie digi from Milk Coffee Stamps blog....Tiffany Fight against Cancer http://milkcoffeestamps.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Explosion Box with Tea Light Birthday Cake

I made this Explosion Box with 2 interchangeable lids, one cut with Cricut Lace cartridge design.  I love seeing the little Tea Light through the lacy lid when it is closed, but note that these little Tea Lights instructions say they only last for about 24 hours of burning.

I added a "shrinky dink" charm and lots of tags with quotes and tabs for pictures.

Shrinky Dink - Baubles/Tags

Sorry, these pictures aren't the best, but you can see some of the little "baubles or tags" that I made using Shrinky Dink, wire, charms and beads.  It is so much fun.  And when I was at the annual "Stamp Fest Tampa" I bought some of Darcie's Shrink Plastic kits....I LOVE THEM!!  Here is one, but you can see some of hers better at her site.  Want to make some more to add to gifts.  I added a little necklace clasp so it can be hung on ribbons or lace...or I guess you could add little loops to hang as ornaments. (Darcie's shrink plastic seems to be a little better quality than regular Shrinky Dink in my opinion)

Altered Cigar Box

This was my first altered cigar box, and it is rather simple, but I had fun.  For the Lace Flower, I just cut a cardboard circle to glue the lace on, then used a hot glue gun and circled the lace a little at a time, working from the outside in (I mixed more than one kind of lace), and cut slits in the lace as I went to help it lay flatter...then added a button to the center.  Mod Podged scrapbook paper for the rest.  Used the Spellbinders "Fancy Tags" die to make the fancy hinges on the corners.  Got little round wooden feet at JoAnns and painted them and glued on with wood glue.  Used Walnut stain on the inside edges of box.
Added Verse from Psalm 3:3 sentiment on inside of box from Verve "Plane Jane" Stamps.
I have been having so much fun playing with "Shrinky Dink" plastic, and made a few baubles/tags with jewels/charms to hook onto lace.
